FS; VICT; RARE VW ACCESSORY STEERING WHEEL
SPRINTSTAR - June 12th, 2011 at 02:55 PM

For sale is an extremely rare steering wheel which I found over 15years ago. This was removed from a 1962 Bug which the original owner told me; was fitted from the dealer and is a genuine VW accessory. It also looks like an early Speedwell..?? I cannot substantiate this as there are no markings anywhere. It also has the early fine spline which in Australia fits 1960-74 VW's. I have used this on my previous Ghia, Bugs and Type3's. I have never seen another one like it and is complete down to the turn signal cancel ring except for some missing screws which makes the button holder a little floppy. One has to expect a certain amount wear for something nearly 40 years old! I never did use the horn button though as I didn't want to wear out the paint on it all these years. It is completely original with no touch-ups etc.. The wheel is 15inch in diameter, wood is in great original unrestored condition including the spokes which are also perfect in terms of being nice and straight.

No need, it just looks almost the same as the back of a standard horn button.
