Stan pobjoy, very good engine builder. Call him to have one built.... That way you will get exactly what you want. Rod penrose also definatley has the goods.

kombiturk - July 19th, 2011 at 08:30 PM

I can vouch for Rod Penrose motors-my new 1916 is set up for my split kombi and has heaps of torque!

joecoupe32 - July 20th, 2011 at 08:49 PM

thanks guys have been talking with rod , more than likely going that way

Craig Torrens - July 20th, 2011 at 09:23 PM

he should have one in stock ready to go...........easier than waiting weeks or months for one.

wiseoldub - July 21st, 2011 at 09:50 AM

can also vouch for Rod!! Definately knows how to put an engine together to suit yr application!

kombivw - July 21st, 2011 at 11:49 AM

I know where a 2ltr running motor can be obtained for around a grand (maybe less) Is still in Kombi so would need to be removed. Sydney area BTW

Actually the whole Kombi is being broken up. Its the air cooled model Type 3

So will add details on separate subject when have them.

joecoupe32 - September 13th, 2011 at 06:00 PM

I ordered a motor 2 months but got stuffed around so now I am looking again! I did get a text message from a guy with a 1916cc engine but I have lost his message. Any other leads or contacts would be greatly appreciated. Ideally I am looking for at least 140 - 150hp and up and am willing to pay for what I am asking. Thanks Joe 0417195655

cnfabo - September 13th, 2011 at 06:39 PM

just ring pobjoy mate his steroid motors punch out a healthy 120 wheel hp... i have a healthy engine built by rod but that is not 120 whp.......keep us updated......

fabo ,perth....

Brian - September 13th, 2011 at 08:03 PM

a basic 1916 will make only around 70hp at the wheels
you can make em up to 140ish but that takes a lot more work and some expertise also a lot more expense.

Have you an engine for rebuild or do you require complete new. What vehicle and application?

Paulc1964au - September 13th, 2011 at 09:47 PM

you could try Custom bugs and buses

Brass Munky - September 13th, 2011 at 10:48 PM

Beach n Manx - September 15th, 2011 at 06:39 PM

I have a 2080 that is in my Manx. It has less than 500k's since being built for sale at around $6000. Put it in the manx so it can be test driven as a demonstrator for the builder. If that is in the budget let me know and I can give you full details of what makes it tick. I can even pass on the details of the builder as his work is very well acclaimed.
