Stan Pobjoy Engine- 1916cc type 3
Universal dual relief case , 043 heads .electronic igition,remanufactured weber 36 idfs rejetted to suit engine, Custom Lillford stainless dual muffler hide away ehaust system.lightened flywheel , anti surge sump, this is a completely remanufactured engine that has done less then 5000klms. engine is fitted to 69 squareback.Engine is completely set up with external filter and cooler. Even though currently set up for type 3 it is a very simple turn around to beetle or kombi configuration. just to clarify. this engine will suit either type 3 or beetle. tinware simply needs to be changed to suit beetle if your going that way. cam is a 26./72 or there abouts, it is the smaller of stans two camshaft profiles, therefore being low to mid range torque more then outright power. no second hand parts were used its all new.

unsure of exact horsepower figures.lets just say you won,t drive a standard one though after driving this engine.photos? it looks like the top of any type 3 engine, or do you mean of the exhaust?

torque and accellaration more then speed. yes the squareback gets up and moves but its most fun accelarating up to the speed limit rather then trying to go doing some ridiculous speed. driving a standard engined car is fun but not a much fun as a built engine.
