FS - DIPSTICK WARNING LIGHT! BEETLE AND KOMBI $55 - $65 posted!
esevwbits - October 4th, 2011 at 11:09 AM

Hi guys,
I have the type 1 and 2 oil dipstick hot oil sensors in stock!

Replace your dipstick with one of these units to send a signal off to your oil pressure light when your engine is reaching maximum temperature.

1 simple wire. ANYBODY can install this engine saving device in less than 5 minutes.

This will save your standard or performance motor during this upcomming hot summer by alerting you prior to cooking the oil!

Benny,

Have you left the rear engine tin of so you can test the dipstick? ;)

These look exactly the same as one I got from Gene Berg in the states and they work very well. Interestingly they are no longer available from Gene Berg as they say their supplier doesn't make them any more. You might be the only supplier of these left!

Cheers

Steve

hellbugged - October 8th, 2011 at 06:22 AM

:tu:.......yep they work

esevwbits - October 8th, 2011 at 07:26 AM

Yep! they certainly do work Steve. Tinware is in now - was messing around with oil cooler lines that day.

Come brand new - packaged with instruction manuals and all info needed - Pre calibrated although can be changed at your request to come on earlier etc.

grogy - October 12th, 2011 at 01:52 PM

excuse my ignorance........... is the copper rod now used as the dipstick to check oil level

hellbugged - October 12th, 2011 at 02:07 PM

Yes you can mark with lines to check oil level as they slip in and out as per a standard dipstick

Or just use a dipstick as per normal

esevwbits - October 12th, 2011 at 03:38 PM

Correct Hellbugged. Thanks for that.

Yes the standard dipstick can be left in the car OR as above you can fill to correct level and then transfer a mark over.

Hi Ben, glad I bought the dipstick - thanks for the chat - always keen to meet people "in the know" , VW wise - seems that there are lots of shonky mechanics about, so good to meet you and Pete. I'm always keen to glean info out of people -I've no VW dna, so I have to learn the hard way! Thanks for the time and info guys.
Cheers DJB

I don't mean to sound ignorant, (it just comes naturally),
By type 1 engine, Does this mean it will fit my 1600Tp engine out of a lowlight kombi?
If so I am interested in getting one as well to combat our Brisbane Summers.
Thanks,
Brad
