NSW: COMPLETE Subaru EA82T Conversion
habib99 - November 6th, 2011 at 07:52 AM

Hi all,

Interest you in 140HP cheap & reliable?

Having imported my UK Speedster which is heavily modified in many ways I have conceded to removing the EA82T conversion in order to try and get it registered.

Therefore selling a COMPLETE set of parts for a conversion (or two!)

Including:

EA82T engine (x2), one 150-200K kms running fine, other 30K kms (looks pretty much like it's right out of the factory).

Two Conversion plates (one recently in use - Kennedy Engineering Products) & 2 Flywheels to mate up to Aircooled transmission.

One full system custom stainless exhaust (very wide bore free flowing) and a beautiful thing to look at!

Two Ali Radiators with electric fans attached. (one just removed from my car is from BMW (incorporates expansion tank).

Ali pipes and flexible hosing, silicone bends etc to plumb engine to radiator back-front-return.

Electric water pump - aids the mechanical pump to circulate the water around a relatively long circuit.

Megasquirt ECU and loom - connected to relevant sensors on EA82T. This ECU is custom and 100% programmable, it drives the fuel injection and ignition. The original distributor is not used (left in situ)

High pressure Fuel pump

Heater matrix and fan - I had this set-up to blow hot air into the stock heater channels at the flick of a switch - nice for winter!

Laptop set-up to tune/programme the Megasquirt. Timing and fuel maps can be tuned whilst driving or on rolling road and different maps can be loaded for different driving conditions.

Various servicing spares for EA82T (timing belts etc), a spare turbo or two and a complete inlet manifold (with fuel rail, pressure regulator) etc etc.

Probably forgetting a load of stuff but you get the picture - there is a lot of stuff here which will make any old VDub go VERY fast, compared to AirCooled for the power (140hp) this is a bargain and it is CHEAP and RELIABLE to maintain! Economical on petrol too! If you're after more power these engines can easily be cranked up - I had no need to get more power myself.

Will consider selling the WHOLE lot for offers over $2500, otherwise I'll be biding my time and converting something else in the future.

Pictures can be emailed - & video of the set-up running before I pulled it all out.

Forgot to mention - the Coil pack (actually two -one is brand new (Ford units) - driven directly by the Megasquirt unit.

I'm probably forgetting other things too - but you get the gist - a lot of stuff as a big job lot.

If you don't know what Megasquirt is - google it, this one is a MS2 with MS'nExtra programmed. Not for the faint hearted but extremely rewarding if you're inclined to custom conversions.

this is what the laptop interface looks like when viewing the gauges live, great for on the road tuning (3D map can be tuned whilst driving) - best done by someone other than the driver!! :D
