This engine has done less than 1000 km since build and has been set up in the Manx buggy as a demo and is for sale. Geoff the builder operates his business from a small town outside Maryborough Qld. Geoff has been busy supplying many trike riders with new motors after their "new"1916 motors expired after less than 1000 miles. I have spoken to several people that have had engine rebuilds done by Geoff and they all have good references. I got sick of taking my Po? to specialist VW mechanics to get it running right and found that i could have bought this engine saved a lot of dollars and had more useable performance. Buggy is in Surfers Paradise.
I would be confident to use this as a daily driver

Any power figures mate?

Beach n Manx - January 27th, 2012 at 04:04 AM

We don't have any output figures as we have not put this on the dyno. Could be done if interested.

very intrested..

would like to have more info as regards to what sort of figures are expected from this combination

steff.....

I'd have to imagine this would be around the 110-125hp figure? At the treads?

If I could hazzard a guess :)

vassy66T1 - January 27th, 2012 at 01:04 PM

Anything more than 100hp would be doing well IMO. I think under 100HP at the wheels

Ollie - January 27th, 2012 at 02:25 PM

Actually yeah your right Vassy, I thought I read a higher compression and Cam :)

This has been designed for a flat power curve to push the bigger tyres on the Buggy and develop power mid range up. Expect output just below the 100. Will try and dyno on Monday to see how close we are.

Geoff has a good reputation as an engine builder.......I'm keen to see hp results too.....:)

I dont like Mondays. With all the reporting I had to do prior to End of Month and 2 staff down and inability to get our timing right was not able to get a run in. Will reschedule for a better time. Only one week to go before I leave the Gold Coast I should be able to organise something for next week.
