WTB RUST FREE 63 BEETLE SHELL
Skremn01 - January 15th, 2012 at 01:23 PM

hey guys, I have a 63 beetle, that i was going to restore.
Problem is the rust in the shell is to extreme for me to replace on my own, n would cost an arm and a leg to have it done professionally.

So Im hunting for a replacement shell. Does anyone know of one? or have one.

What do you consider to be to much rust ????
As any beetle shell of this era is going to have rust in one way or another .
IE if your shell currently just has bad heater channel rust but the rest of the shell is pretty good then stick with what youv've got as again any early beetle will have mabey good looking channels now but give it another couple of years they are are probaley not going to look real flash .
Long story short , but what i'mm getting at is , you will drive all over the country look at a dozen or more shells , most of which are probbaley no better than you have ,and spend a small fortune on fuel and phone calls so just get stuck into what you have and do a night coarse at Tafe etc and fix it
