its very unusual for the modulator to be broken

i have a few broken ones here. it is common.

i got a bucket load of fornicated ones here ( usually the car blows very white smoke when fornicated, but not always. some are adjustable, but if your auto is shifting too early and is not adjustable, make a longer pin. experimenting involved here) ( i have seen a few motors rebuilt because of the smoking thing, thinking rings are blown )
