WTB Type 4 exhaust into Superbug
davodawg - June 14th, 2012 at 10:46 AM

Hi guys. Putting a 2.6-litre Type 4 into my 75 Superbug and finding all sorts of blind alleys when it comes to sourcing an exhaust. Anybody out there got one or know what works?
Serious cash buyer.

If you have no luck with any second hand ones the exhaust from Vintage speed are tops.

Go through either Matt Berry (who is on this forum) or Vintage Vee Dub supplies for one of these; you'll more than likely get a better deal than online.

Cheers

I have a vintage speed system on my 2270 type 4 in my bug. It fits well and is really starting to sound good and perform well. I also have a Tangerine Racing 1 5/8" 4 into 1 header sitting unused in my shed. It has no muffler though only header from exhaust port to collector.

building one yourself isnt cheap either , after buying 8 x 1 5/8 mandrel u bends , collector , flanges , straight pipe , muffler and bends to suit that think it owes me close to 650-700 not including time or pipes i cut off heater boxes , all tuned length to within 1 inch of each other . But worth it :)
