Has anyone got a ratty RHS heart tail light housing I could extract from them. I can swap it for a nice one, or $$$. (If it is complete with lenses,
then I could swap an assembled one)
Emerald has got the LHS with great patina to match the rest of the car, but it didn't come with the RHS.
This is the LHS
I have seen the set on ebay, but I don't need the whole set.

paint strip the one you've got, leave it in some hydrocloric acid for 1/2 hour, wipe it with a rag and leave it for a day and it will look like the other one ( failing that i have an oval rhs tail light housing you can cut the heart into and do the same thing )
Snowflake and hearts are different sizes, the above would not work.
just take a little fabricating to make them the same ( as i have done before )
What happened to your comment of just "cut the heart into it"? Would love to see some pictures of how you've done this, you must be one hell of a
metal fabricator to get a snowflake to look like a heart taillight!!!
well if you look up goodoldaze1@blogspot.com.au you will see some of the fabricating i do.
and yes i am one hell of a fabricator
and if you want one knocked up out of a flat peice of metal , i can do that too.
How is looking up your email address going to show us anything? Less talking about it and more posting pictures...
There is a paint you can buy, I used it for a spa bath I have and you paint the black or white base on, then another coat of rusty brown. The top coat
reacts with the base coat and makes it look rusty. This means the actual metal housing isnt rusting and you can keep the one you have.
I will find out what it is called.

What drugs are you on? The above comment doesnt even make
sense since you haven't posted a single picture, just an email address for some strange reason?
Perhaps you need to move with the times and learn how to post pictures on a forum rather than odd ramblings which aren't helping Simon or others at
all...
and besides photo bucket is antquated Noah
Ooookay!
If anyone can help Simon, i'm sure he would be greatly appreciative. Hope you can find just what you are after!
Simon,
Here is the paint I posted about,

Thanks Heath, I'll give that a try.
Might also come in handy for the other parts of the car which I need to blend in.
since the three options that i put to simon were not helping, i offer to hand fabricate a rhs housing ( sorry was a bit vague on the snowflake
housing, but it was around 87 that a drunk in a hire car rear ended my 54 and drove off. i can't even remember what i ended up doing with the w deck
lid, but i do remember making a heart out of a snowflake and yes i think i remember there was some fabricating going on, and no it wasn't a different
size ) his options are i can make it from scratch or make it from a snowflake housing. ( and make look the same as the lhs one by using the
hydrocloric method i mentioned )
p.s thanks for the selective editing
Thanks for the offer, but I'll try the paint first. If that doesn't work, I'll try your hydrochloric acid trick - I've got a few housings to work
with so no need to fab up anothery.
I was just putting feelers out to see if by some miracle there was one sitting on someone's shelf.
porters paints is next door to my shop if you need a hand organising
