Dellorto 40 DRLA and twin port manifold
Fastie - August 30th, 2012 at 05:59 PM

This carb is best described 'as new'.
Was recently fully rebuilt and tuned by PO totalling $500.
Fantastic upgrade for your beetle or kombi, and said to be better than IDF webers.
This is jetted for 1835 currently

You get a clean and mean DRLA 40, K&N filter (looks new), and twin port manifold as a bolt on application.

Only reason I'm selling is I bought the engine and the carb won't fit the type 3 setup.

Here's a video shot last week of carb running and gives you idea of how your setup will look. If it doesn't sell I may just frame it and hang as art.

$550 - post included.

Hi, my 72 Kombi has a fresh 1641cc twin port engine. The Dellorto advertised was jetted for 1835cc.
How much trouble, & cost to have it re-jetted (if necessary) to suit the smaller 1641cc motor?

My standard carb needs some work, and I am considering either having it rebuilt or buying a performance carb.

fish26 - September 17th, 2012 at 10:36 PM

it will work fine on a 1641, it was jetted for stock valved heads up to 2L.........for $400 this is is a steal, non Italian kits sell new for $800 +

Thanks Benito, you seem to know lots more than me about these, so can you tell me the advantages of one of these carbs over the standard?

- fitment, fuel consumption, power, reliability, ease of tuning (and maintaining that peak tune), timiing adjustment?, adequate fuel supply from the standard pump? and anything else you believe I should consider.

Also, what advantage/disadvantage over twin carbs - kadrons, webers etc?

Thanks for your help.

:sniffle: I am trying to reply to the seller's pm on this item, but it bounces off to what appears to be my pm's? Why is this
