Well, I was thinking maybe somebody like ArtyP, BUGBOY, 11cab, Tony Beven (bevoracing), or well..... any of you Aussies would hop in here to answer
the question.
However, since I have a very treasured copy of the CB parts list packet compliments of the guru of CBs, the late Mr. Bill Moore
(* see notation below for pics and history), I'm going to take the liberty to attempt to answer this very specific
technical question.
Since I only have Bill's beloved CB bible in front of me, and no practical knowledge of the subjuct matter, here's what I've deciphered.

item # 44: 211 405 625 Taper Roller Bearing 45 mm - Front Wheel (Inner), Qty 2
item # 46: 211 405 645 Taper Roller Bearing 45 mm - Front Wheel (Outer), Qty 2

211 in those part numbers designates "Kombi" and doing a quick search shows those wheel bearings suit kombi's from 64-79. Country Buggies use Kombi brake drums so I'd say they'd be the correct ones
Quite correct.
The bearings and seals are 64 to 67 Type 2 (Bearings went on to the end of T2)
Bearings:-
Inner bearing 1 1/4" 31.75mm x 1 21/64" 59.131mm, Inner half has LM11949 on it, Outer LM11910
Outer bearing 3/4" 19.05mm x 1 25/32" 45.237mm, Inner half has LM11949 on it, Outer LM11910
Seals 211 455 641B 45 x 65 x 8mm, T2 64 to 67.
All of these are available at any bearing supplier.
The bearings are the most common in the world, Chev / Holden / Harley etc front wheel, ¾ ton trailer axles. That’s why Commodore discs fit
straight on Type 2 and Country Buggy stubs, although they widen the wheel track somewhat. At least the spares you carry for your caravan will fit the
T2 you’re towing it with.
Can you imagine the conversation in the VW board room in 1963 when they were debating the idea of going with “IMPERIAL” bearings in the new T2
front end. A German company using imperial measurement components, sacrilege. That I would have paid to see.
Don’t forget the golden rule of bearings, “NEVER Chinese”, so don’t buy some very cheap trailer kit.

Tony you have the inner and outer sizes listed as being different,but the LM numbers are the same???

Thanks Tony, I can now go to Rod Moore and get a set ready to do up my CB front end. Interesting about the Holden rotors fitting straight on.Can get a new undrilled pair and do any stud pattern. Do you use the Holden caliper?Easy enough to fab a mounting bracket.

Yes you can use the Commodore callipers.
Have a look at Smiley’s Baja thread http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=80275 . It’s a hell of a thread but there is a section in there
all about the spindles & brakes. I did a set of CB front spindles for him, he fabricated a very nice set of calliper mounts, all bolted, no
welding. Used Commodore standard rims and got a nice stance for the front of the Baja, although it is wider than a CB would be, I think?
Don’t forget to use the Type 2 M18 x 1 (fine thread, not the beetle ones which are M18 x 1.5) clamp nuts instead of the standard bearing double lock
nuts.

Thanks Tony- I am in Leigh Creek at the moment and found an old model Commie with 4 wheel discs - the fronts look like the rotors slip off the hubs, but I can't see how to get the hub off- there is no grease cap to get at the lock nut. I will jack it up and remove the caliper, may become obvious then.It looks like it may be easy to change the stud pattern if needed , just drill in the middle of the OG studs.
I pulled a front rotor off and it has the sealed hubs held on with the caps crews - it's a November 96 model. What year car are you talking about??

Yes, not that new-fangled late model stuff. Needs to be the Kingswood and Commodore with the standard bearing cap on the outside. You knock the cap
off and there's a nut in there that holds the bearings on to a stub axle, just like a VW. Looks like VP was the last of them, 1993.

Hope you are on to it Tony with the Commie rotors.My new rotors arrived yesterday for the CB conversion.The calipers look like they are the correct ones for the rotors.Another job on the to do list.I will make a dedicated cradle to fit the beam onto my VW engine stand.I will do all the measuring stuff tomorrow and source the bearings if it measures OK.The rotors have new bearing cups already pressed in place.
The seal size you list Tony is no good- the seal OD has to be 59mm, same as the bearing cup OD. There is no step of larger diameter so must be 45/59/8. Will try Moory next week

That’d be right, that seal is what a Country Buggy uses, the Holden disc is probably different. They’ll have that one available at one of the
places in town.

Got the bearings from CBC this morning-just standard Commie kits,they just need to swap the seals over-they didn't have the seals in stock.Cost $20 a side for NGK bearings and cups and the seals-bargain.Will have to strip the CB brakes and draw up the caliper mounts and get on the Mill.Thanks for the info on doing this conversion.
