I was reading that there was an optional fibreglass roof for the country buggies when they were first released.
Does anyone have a picture of what they looked like (up close), and pictures showing how they were fitted.
And is anyone on this list making reproduction fibreglass roofs?
Or, does anyone have one for sale?
Regards
Paul
Paul,
Here are some pics I have saved to file.
The first is a fiberglass top fitted to a Sakbayan.
The rest are fitted on CB's.
Unfortunately, none are close ups of attachment fittings.
The hard top's look good.
Does anyone have one for sale?
mate the 3rd and 4th pic are ones of my old one
thats the way i found it
and thats the way i sold it
i still have those number plates somewhere
that top has a stamp in the fibre glass from volkswagen australia
so its worth copying that one if you can find the owner
hope that helps

Pault,
I, too, wanted a fibreglass roof to replace the tatty vinyl roof on my cb.
I know Alec Brown, in Toowoomba, has a loan of an original fibreglass roof with the intention of taking moulds and make copies - I'm not sure what
stage that project is at.
Alec is a regular on here using kombisaint.
Good luck
Rob
about time we chased him up about it !!
I have done a few molds and made some parts recently with f/glass so if you get one I would be keen to make a plug.. but of course we have to get one
first, so consider me a starter for the project.
