Can someone please post a few closeup pics of the mirrors on their CB? My CB was restored by oldbug.com and didn't arrive with any mirrors. I am
trying to make sure I get the correct replacements.
Also, anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement engine crank? Apparently mine was dislodged during transportation from oldbug to my home.
Many thanks!
The mirrors are the same as the small round kombi type, if not the same thing.
The arm is also the same.
A small bracket is attached to the body.
Mine are missing, but I'm sure someone will post pictures.
As for your crank handle they are all the same but with a different length shaft. Best to get what ever you can get your hands on and cut and extend
to suit.
VWJessie,
Welcome to the CB forum.
Its great to know Randy Carlson's Oldbug restoration hasn't disappeared from the face of the earth!
As you may or may not know, these creatures are pretty rare birds in the USA.
You won't find a better place than here to get info on CBs.
We all love pics of CBs, so if you are so inclined, we'd love to see more of your CB.
Graham has developed a super visual resource with his CB Gallery. Check it out:

He already has an album devoted to your CB from past pics posted elsewhere.

VWJessie,
Yes, welcome to AVD and the CB thread.
Have a look at the attached photos, they may help. The mirror pivot arm was CB specific but the mirror head was T2 part # 211 857 513O . Would not be
difficult to make up.
I have also enclosed a photo of the crank

Meant to say, disregard the wire looped around the top of the mirror pivot arm. Thats not original but it does hold the mirror head still when driving
the vehicle.

Hi Jessie & all.
The bracket is galvanised (at least on my car). I believe they only came with one, don't know which side, Bill?? The hinge bolt, through the
bracket, is different to the bolt on the other side of the windscreen. I can make replicas of the bracket and both types of bolts if anyone needs
them. Perhaps you have worn or rusted hinge pins or need a bracket for the other side? The ones I make won't be galvanised of course, only painted
black. Could be stainless I guess, if you were keen.
Cheers
Tony
Hi Jesse,
Your CB is what got me interested in CB's. I loved the photoshoot of your CB in VW Trends. Email me at vwdc@hotmail.com if you can. I have a
couple questions I would like to ask you. I recently asked Randy Carlson where that CB when and he didn't know where it was. Take Care!

looks like a vw industrial engine crank handle would do the job
