I used to own this buggy about 25 years ago, and sold it to Ian from cessnock way ,It was owned by a fisherman .who took it on the beach it had a marine ply roof and not a speck of rust as he had painted the pan in tar and treated the body with some anti-corrosion paint after sand blasting it.Glad to see its gone to a good home might see it around newcastle sometime,It had the centre of the wheels changed so the front and back tyre used the same track in the sand .It went really well on the beach.

hi iron horse
Ian told me the story I about you and the original fisherman owner even has the old bottle opener on the dash for the beers week after picking up from ian checking on ebay found an original factory hardtop it has never been unreg ian had it stored in a container I went there to pick up a 54 beetle from him and had to climb over the cb to get to the beetle it was like love at 1st sight I drive it about newy now and then should get it out more as it is fun and the kids love the wind in the hair and noise
I drive it to work sometimes work at orix tudor st hamilton people always stop and take pics of it as the younger ones have never seen them before very cool
