What could cause my bug to blow white smoke constantly?
Oil has only just been changed now long ago when motor was installed.
Stock motor apart from extractors.

is it Auto??
Checked your air/fuel mixture?
Generally black smoke - fuel = too rich, blue smoke - oil = worn rings or valve guides, white smoke that disapates = water vapour, white smoke lingers = brake fluid (not applicable to a manual beetle)
Poor quality fuel from a servo had water in it?
Cheers Guys, Possibly Had water Get in as it was parked outside for 2 days while i was away and it was raining pretty hard i heard and it has a sports
air filter so water could have got in through the decklid as it only just starting doing it since i got back.

John,
No i haven't even looked underneath the head, i just bolted it all up and she went, and good compression too.
And Also guys it's a manual.

I thought it was
black = rich
blue = oil
white = raw fuel
I have certainly seen "white" smoke when a motor starts after it has been flooded or a "dead" spark plug comes to life
Usually you will get a big cloud that disapates very quickly
Use it for a few kilometres Dylan,the engine has been standing for a while and may need to run it in again,sometimes the rings skip over a bit of surface rust on the cylinders and the oil will drain to the bottom of the cylinder giving a nice cloud of smoke on start up.Put an oil bath cleaner back on it.
