The Bentley is the most technical and the Idiot guide the most animated
Haynes is in between
Be careful if buying overseas due to the 1967 differences
Most Aust VW shops would stock what you are after
I've got 4 manauls, because I've got an Aussie 67.
I've got 2 bently manuals, 1 for the 6V (40HP) chassis and body and the other for the 1300 engine,
The idiots guide & then haynes manual.
I have a Scientific publications for the 1200/1300 and a new or used Idiot guide if you are interested please pm.
Thanks guys for the help. I'm away at the moment and will contact you when I return.

Greg
Hi Guys
Am I correct in assuming that my 1967 was manufactured in AUS?
The Chassis number is: 197644158.
I'm sorry to ask this stupid question but are there any manuals pertaining specifically to Australian manufactired models? If not, what are the
differences in the various overseas manuals that you guys have mentioned?
Or am I worrying too much
Yes the 67 should have been local production. The Scientific Publications was printed in Australia I believe I will have to dig it out to check. The Idiot guide has a lot of information written in a humorous manner that s easily understood.Depending how much detail you want to go into most of the mechanicals are the same so you may be worrying a bit too much. If you have a problem there is a wealth of knowledge available on this forum as a lot of us older blokes were involved in the vw workshops in the era you are talking. Regards Les
Thanks Grumble,
Where are you located? I'm in Sydney.
