Get Wolfsburg West to put a kit together for you if you can Shane. If will ensure you get the right fit as the floor vents moved on different models and you will need to ensure the vent hole cut is where you need it for it to fit correctly.

Do you deal direct through them,or are there any local suppliers that i can get them from ???

HappyDaze - April 12th, 2013 at 05:17 PM

Make sure they know it's RHD, whoever you buy from.

I dont like the idea of buying one overseas theres allways dramas,i just want a carpet kit for a oval that doesnt use rubber mats.

PM sent

MISS VDUB - April 12th, 2013 at 07:11 PM

Deal direct with them, they make RHD to order.

Pumba - April 12th, 2013 at 07:38 PM

Wolfsburg west site only show the kits that use rubber mats, they dont have basic kits for early beetles with carpet mats like im after,i think getting them to make up a kit with shipping is just not worth it.

MISS VDUB - April 12th, 2013 at 09:00 PM

Flick them an email like I did, they were super helpful.

Pumba - April 12th, 2013 at 09:06 PM

Did you get a kit from them ???

MISS VDUB - April 12th, 2013 at 09:18 PM

Yes, they made me one for my 56 Oval I had.

Pumba - April 13th, 2013 at 02:59 PM

I have been looking at newton carpet kits they have alot of good feedback, just waiting to hear back about shipping ???

Pumba - April 14th, 2013 at 08:41 AM

Has anyone used the kit from justkampers ???

vw54 - April 14th, 2013 at 09:47 AM

I think it might still work out cheaper than a trimmer ???

Pumba - April 16th, 2013 at 05:41 PM

Has anyone used the TMI kits ???

LUFTMEISTER - April 16th, 2013 at 05:58 PM

Yep. No German square weave and a little thin, but looks nice installed. I stuck underlay to the back of mine to make it more luxious. My2c

Pumba - April 16th, 2013 at 06:21 PM

Im not really worried about german square weave as long as the shape is good and fits ok,not sure what to do about the heater vents being a early 60s carpet kit going in a oval.

LUFTMEISTER - April 16th, 2013 at 06:50 PM

Just make sure they understand which model you have and RHD RHD RHD. Cheers

Pumba - April 16th, 2013 at 07:33 PM

Im trying not to buy from overseas so RHD wont be a problem, justkampers have TMI i dont know what brand classic sell,i might have to ring vintage and see what there got.

steve burgess - April 17th, 2013 at 11:34 AM

I just got a carpet set from Pierside Parts for my oval.Price was very good even with shipping. It was a tmi kit and the quality and fit was pretty good, but they got the heater outlet position wrong even though i had made a note of where i wanted it.So they are sending the right ones but that takes time.
It was cheaper through Piersde than directly with TMI plus they were slow to answer there emails.

MISS VDUB - April 17th, 2013 at 04:56 PM

Make sure you get an oval kit, and as mentioned before and Steve just noted, make sure the vents are positioned in the correct spot.

Pumba - April 17th, 2013 at 05:13 PM

The problem with ordering a oval kit is they dont have the floor mats or the one for the tunnel, because i dont want rubber mats i have to get a 58-67 kit and just put up with the heater holes being wrong.

Steve did you buy a oval kit or later one ???

steve burgess - April 18th, 2013 at 09:18 AM

It was for a Oval ,listed as 10 pc. carpet to suit 54-57.RHD and 3 pc. rear .The fit was good but you have to cut the holes for shifter, handbrake & heater.A bit on the thin side but you wouldn't know if you use good underfelt under the mats.It was less than 1/2 the cost of getting one made locally.http://www.piersideparts.net/TMI34-F1125.html
