Paint them black?
mystery fang - April 26th, 2013 at 06:38 PM

Bit bored with my wheels.Paint them black?
or any other suggestions?(new rims not an option yet)

Why don't you head down to Supercheap and see if you can find some clip-on wheel trims to give you a bit of a change, but still leave you the option of going back to how it is now. I think it looks great how it is. Color matched wheels on Beetles always look fantastic :)

Black gets my vote!

I see a red wheel and i want to paint it black. Paint them black with a red pinstripe. F yeah.

Two tone them with a cream colour

Paint the car black and leave the wheels red

dragsters for life - April 27th, 2013 at 06:00 AM

paint the whels cream and add a dress ring

For stock wheels, the wheel centre and inner rim should be cream; the outer rim should be body colour. You can always add white-wall tyres later.

The wider chrome Porsche 356-style wheels, with VW hubcaps, look fantastic.

Cheers for the replies guys.I'll probably play with some different colour combos over the next few weeks.Might go black inner and leave the red outer first.Been playing around with "beetle generator'' on my phone which helps, good little app that.

white walls would make it look awesome

kombibob - April 28th, 2013 at 06:40 PM

Flourescent colours seem to be cool with the boy racers at the moment.

Guess they must be able to drive like Ken block like that?

I hope I'm not hijacking your thread mystery fang, but after all the NSW blue slip stuff was done I had a bit of fun tidying up the car, and doing fun stuff. One of the things was painting the patchy rims....so I painted them black also. I like this look and it suits the car i.e. solid, honest and uncomplicated. :)
Cheers, Rob.

Taken at Sawtell Headland today. (excuse the self indulgent editing of the photo)
