Hey people just after some first hand experiences from anyone that has changed from a Merged header and Phat boy style system to a CSP Python system
on a beetle..Im currently running an 1"5/8ths merged scat headers with a phat boy muffler on my 1916cc with 40mm carbs and full flow oil system but
the muffler is starting to "blow out" and is getting louder. Im looking at fitting a 1"5/8ths CSP Python exhaust.Has anyone achieved a power
increase?.Has anyone run into fitment issues with the CSP Python running a full flow oil system?.regards Jason
G'day
Have a look at my Members Ride thread under Marty
I went from one of those VW OEM headers to a CSP style sidewinder.
Mine is 1 1/2" to 1 3/8"
I reckon 1 5/8" is to big for a mild 1916
Dyno output went from 66 to 70 RWHP
Cheers..will have a read..1"5/8ths was recommended by engine builder..motor runs C35 scat cam, cnc'd heads from Penrose and decent compression..running PULP fuel.I guess the cone inserts help tune the exhaust too?..
I run 1 & 5/8 on my 1776
.... Snitz, could you not just chop out the muffler from the phat boy pipes and weld a magnaflow or borla etc one back in it's place. That's what I
did after my empis short life.
