vintage/retro stereo aus

Hi all
Nearly there with the bug (yay!) looking at replacing the 80's style tape deck that doesn't even work.. does anyone know if those vintage looking stereos are sold anywhere in Aus (refuse to pay postage that is more than 50% of the purchase price just because it comes from usa) I've done a search on sound systems on here but can't find anything on these vintage ones in Aus - if anyone knows would be very helpful
Thanks in advance
Wend

They can still work out cheaper buying from the USA even adding in postage. Some retailers over here that I have priced them through must buy them in the USA, get them over here then add their 30% on top of that. Might pay to check that too.

yeh you're not far wrong there pfillery :D

May seem cheaper until something goes wrong and need to use a warranty. I prefer to buy electronics local so I can swap something over rather than paying Australia Posts rediculous charges to ship something back.

i'm the same to be honest - the prices end up being around the same but rather support local if i can - hard enough to find parts in Aus as it is - if i have to buy overseas i usually end up buying from uk and getting my folks to post it out - especially when it's free postage within the uk it ends up cheaper for them to send it :)
