I'm looking to replace the rotor and cap on my distributor. As most of the distributors that are common on VW's are the 009 models, mine is smaller
or stubbier? I thought it was a bit different.
On the Samba.com there was a post on Distributors, and with my beetle being a 1970, I think it has a 113 905 205T (vacuum advance) not a 009. Will 009
parts fit this model distributor?? I suppose the Bosch parts will fit stock and 009?
thanks Josh
Hi
the 009 was never used on any VW model from the factory...
You need to get the part number on the side of the distributor to make sure you have the correct parts...
very easy to end up with wrong rotor...
113 905 205 is the usual distributor part number with two letters on the end... AA AJ AH AD etc
there will also be a BOSCH part number on there too...
check out:
http://www.oldvolkshome.com/ignition.htm#A6970M
for a list of distributors and parts... USA cars did have different distributors so look for Your dizzy part number..
I hope that helps
Most of the older VW parts shops should know what parts fit a dizzy part number..

My distributor is a 0231 127 009 distributor with an original brown bakelite cap (1235 522 027) / 113 905 205 K ...So I need to get the short style
rotor and cap.
Turns out these old caps aren't as easy to get a hold of as some others. Sure they are available but do cost a bit more...is there any advantages in
purchasing one of these rather than a replacement?
68AutoBug : I did a bit of reading on oldvolks.com and seems like I can replace my old bosch cap with another one , a 03001 cap?
would there be any difference in performance or lifespan in me getting the 03001 cap to what the original one was? I don't particularly need an
original one again...

do you think this is the same as a 03001 cap??
best place is www.just kampers australia is the best place to buy them about $18.00 each
