Very nice. Do you know its history? Did it come with all the previous owners' paperwork?
The reason I ask is the German build plate. It must have been a private import at some stage; Australian Beetles have a 'Volkswagen Australasia'

My '59 too has this plate, I was under the assumption that all pre 60's bug were imports. Construction here didnt start till after.
