In Search of new Exhaust, HATE THE WHISTLE
jjwebb123 - May 18th, 2014 at 09:33 AM

Hi Guys... (Couldnt find much in search)
For a number of years now i have been running this exhaust system. http://au.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Exhaust-system-2-Tip-GT-or-USE-AC2513418-A...

"BUT" it developed that "whistle/pinking" sound and i havnt Never liked it. It doesnt sound too bad whilst driving. but when it is at idle you cant stand around it and have a yarn. The whistling drives you mad.

Im looking for a system that i can bolt straight up to existing Jpipes that exits stock holes. Yet doesnt have that whistle and is not too loud. Preferably just 2 tip.

Any input or ideas would be appreciated.

Talk to Matt berry on here if you looking at getting the above, alternatively a tri-mil setup is good but not on the quieter side.

Being genuinely curious here, do you know of one available that lasts longer than the first winter?

(with a few tweaks, that would be my choice also)

If you have a single carb and plan on sticking with it then stock muffler is the best and if you don't like the fweeming then taper tips get rid of that and also give it a deeper note without being offensively loud.

The preheat to a stock carb sucks with any kind of header, only stock mufflers have the correct flow through system which actually works.

This is good to know.....as I've never had one with it hooked up, glad to hear I'm not missing out on much
