park plugs, dizzy.. my mistake!
Good Afternoon Everyone
After a nice rough day working on my 71 Superbug I managed to fix 90% of my original issues, whilst creating some new ones!
So I rewired most of the front, got my head lights working, indicator, etc etc
However, I changed over my dizzy cap and put on new leads and now all of a sudden she doesnt want to kick.
So I just want to double check I have the leads correct, before I call in more professional help!
I have attached a pic i found on the net which I believe is the correct order, but just wanted to double check...
Thanks
Andrew
yeah - but have a read here
http://www.vw-resource.com/misfiring.html
I was always told to use a wipe of 'Never seize' or 'Copper grease' on plug threads.
The position of the cylinders is correct, but we can only assume that the distributor has been fitted correctly. So, Rotate the crankshaft pulley until the timing mark on the on the pulley is at the 12 o'clock position. It will also line up with the join in the crankcase. Have a look at where the rotor button is pointing. That is where the spark will go! At this point either number 1 or 3 cylinder is firing. Dave
