What did the factory use to hold the clear plastic on to
protect door card from moisture ???
Learnt a lot today how to take fittings off , the clear plastic
came off easy with what ever they used still sticky and I
was able to put the clear plastic back on using this clear sticky stuff.
This has been the first time the door card has been off , only
took it off to replace a few broken clips , but replaced all and
new bungs , no rust but cleaned the dirt out , sprayed some
fish oil before replacement , also greased the window track
which now works beautifully , I also replaced the foam
weatherstrip to the back of trim/door card which bunnings had
identical size Raven RP14A , now all back together .
contact cement from reject shop
make both surfaces tacky wait a bit and seal out that water...saving the cards from destruction
Get PVA glue and paint the doorcards with it as well it will water proof them.
using bathroom sealer from Bunnings ....on all my door cards during restoe, both sides of every card ! Mitch ole m8, how are you?...
