What were they thinking ?..... apparently they weren't...... !! I understand the "each to his own" concept, and "wouldn't it be boring if we all thought the same", but, there's a limit, beyond which you wonder about what substances his, or her, parents were partaking in during their nuptials .

This bug has a brother. It is for sale in Newcastle for about $5000. It doesn't have the Merc front end but it has the radical bit around the windows and vents and the wing. Everything is in metal and you have to admire the skills used to do the job if not the end product.I had a look to purchase but it was too much. The base of the one I am talking about is a 65 semi auto. Honda prelude seats. It is owned by an older fellow who took it to a panel beater out around western Lake MAcquarie and left it there with instructions to make something unique. That was achieved. It has the new commodore purple paint and old EH holden tail lights. For those in Newcastle it sits daily outside the service station on Newcastle Road near the Douglas Street intersection. I don' believe, (having spoken to the owner) that there was any intention to commit some form of VW offence more to show some individuality. Gets em talking!

A lot of good work has been put into that, a shame about the finished article. It may be that the builder had a lot of different ideas and put them all together in one project instead of spreading them out a bit. Less is more.
