I've put up some photos in the new members forum but thought I would stick them in here too.
I just bought it recently.
It has been well looked after by its previous owners. I have receipts going back 20 years, showing all the work carried out on the car. I also have
the original service book but am dubious about its authenticity but not to worry. As far as I understand its mostly if not totally original
mechanically and in bodywork. In total it has traveled 94k miles and runs very well.
Cheers
Pat
nice ride.. looks in great shape
Bloody nice bug!
Yes, it is in good shape given its year. I intend to improve it over the next yeat or two, as certain aspects are looking a bit tired, such as the paintwork and chrome fittings.

well your brother has no taste BUGS RULE!!!!!!!!!
Hey mate,
Great find there, good to see that there are still beautiful cars like yours out of the roads today, even after all these years.
I brought my 1962 bug off the original owner, and looking at dubs like ours show that vw built these cars to last, seeing how they have stood the
tests of time. (Provided that the have been looked after and serviced)
Sweet, ooses potential. I remember when my 65 looked like that, seems a life time ago.
Ooooooh nice. Nice house too....

Here's the earliest pic I could find, but this is after the "mutilation" process began. lol, I alway get carried away and forget to take progress
pics.
But it was just like yours to start with, only yours has better interior.

Looks exactly how the 2nd picture reflects, thats also the highest the car sits. Only the interior is nothing like yours anymore. Way out there old
school Rat meets Gasser style.
I can't leave anything alone, I have to tinker.

Nice bug!! Looks to be an imported '65, deffinatly not an Australian built one.
shmick!!!
that's perfect, is that even an original radio? the two tone interior looks beautiful. my father has a '61 wolfsburg aswell and yours is exactly how
he wants his to look.
i salute you.
That's nice. Very honest little car. Can almost smell it in the interior pics. Enjoy.
Nice little bug. The interior is shmick!! lucky you
Thanks for the comments. Was speaking to a vw guru recently who informed me this beetle, along with a number of others, was imported from Germany for use by German diplomats posted in Canberra. Apparently they were too snobby to drive the Australian assembled beetles!! Apparently these models are rare and sought after.
u can always pick the german spec early models
they have the big late model windows, pushbutton decklid catch and the horn button with no half circle ring
Very, very , very nice!
I have one of them deck lids,do they have the bottom bracing on the inside like the T handle ones??? sorry for hi jacking the thread cheers shane.
nice looking car I have 2 x 65s but there aussie built of course the Sea Blue has the factory sunroof and the Orange smoothie isnt
stock anymore but there 65s for sure
Brad nice job on the carpets
good to see they fitted an AWA push button aussie radio LOL
