This looks to be a really old photo from the 60's that I have been walking past for about 4 years at work and finally took a photo of the photo and
posted it up. Hope it wasn't being driven when the prang happened.
Wow

ouch, I don't think you would survive that
u might have ending up in the passengers seat "hopefully"
I believe in that impact the drivers head would go thru the side window glass...

What sort of work do you do to have a photo like that on the wall?

I saw the photos of the RAAF 707 that went into the ocean whilst (stupidly) practicing a double asymetric engine failure. If you guys think those things are bent .......
There used to be a web site called something like 'What Not to Do to Your VW' which had pictures of crashed VWs of varying severity. They ranged from minor front end crashes to total devestation. Very interesting if a bit morbid or something.
Oh this is AWFUL!!! I'm gonna have nightmares...
Camo i am pretty sure i have the front cut of this car in my factory,it was bought by a guy in bass hill and sat in his shed till last year he had heaps of vw stuff
nasty nasty stuff. Ive seen some of those photos on a web site ages ago called VW graveyard
I noticed that in the volksrod that it was the passanger side that has caved in.
Devastating stuff for the passanger if they had one.
yup LHD
he was clobbered by a FedEx truck
no passenger luckily but he still had pretty severe injuries
hes a fellow member on the samba
DAM makes me think about fitting seatbelts to the 58 !!!
ah comeon patticakes, keep livin on the edge
Hi
In the 70s I used to work in VW wrecking yard. We had some pretty sad looking cars come in, it always sent a shiver up my spine to think what would
have happened to the occupants.
One wreck we had was a Gemini Blue 1972 Superbug, the driver side was so crumpled that the floor was folded over near the pedals, flies would never
leave this car and it was rumoured that part of the drivers foot was still stuck there, may have been story to scare young blokes like me.
My wiper motor on my old yellow bug died one day and the wiper motor from this car was fitted to it.
Sometimes I think I wish I knew then what I know now, I was offered a mint Ghia for $500 that had had an engine fire, I didnt buy it because my mates
would have been uncomfortable in the back.
We also had stacks of Beetle roof sections leaning against a wall, all containing mint steel and fabric sunroofs.
Steve
Hope my bug never ends up like these, or i will cry
Man I have seen some cars round poles before but that dub is bent! Still some of those parts could still be used. Tough 'lil buggers

I don't think an airbag would be much help
just make sure you have a collapsable steering column in Your beetle...

AWW poor bug, minute of silence everyone...that would of sucked if it was being driven at the time of the prang.
