Will a 67 bug be 12V or 6V?

If it has been upgraded how can one tell?

G'day Matt,
A 67 Bug, should be 6v over her. In the Usa it would of been 12volt. Typical Vw Australia being late changing things over! You could have a look at the fuel tank gauge from behind. it will say either 6v or 12v so thats what she would of been originally.

Hope this helps, Cheers Bill

:D That sounds real yummy :starhit:

A mate had a 1300 deluxe around 2003 just before i bought delilah, (63 bug) almost bought it, it even had all the old vw stickers but sadly she was a bit too rusty :sniffle:

What will be happening to your little bug if you buy her?

One will have to go!

Just not sure which one! New one is great cond!

Old one has sentimental value!

We'll see!

easiest way to tell at a quick glance is the regulator will be mounted on top of the generator if its still 6volt

12 volt converted bugs will have them screwed to the firewall or fanshroud
