I'm going for a Cal Look on my 73' - well at least i think its Cal Look..
And I'm thinking about what wheels will look good and Fit. I hate wheels that stick out past the fender....!!! Also need to know if any of these dont
go with front standard disks.....
(I think I see Cal Look like this.....ish)
Along the lines of... decklid standoff's... no chrome strips... no badges.. indicators in the bumper up front... S - bug rear lights... 1 piece
windows.. Smooth and almost modern for an old car... yeah?
These are some idea's.....
Looks good in the 5 stud.. not converting though... haha
Tyres...... White walls or not....
Going on to...
I'd love to hear your thoughts....... on what you think would suit...
"german look"suits better for late models..........
i get the feeling no one has introduced you to bug-selecta..........
http://www.volkswarenhaus.de/bugselecta.htm
go there and knock yourself out killer
X2
Can you give me a good description of both... what are the major difference's?? Pic's.....
I'm kinda set on how I want it to be... But I am almost copying someone else.... appart from the wheels...
cal - 50s drag car crossed with show pony from what it looks like shese days, most over done thing ever as far as vw shows go, suits the 50-60s bugs
tho
GL - more race car style, low, clean lines, no chrome, big wheels, big brakes, big power, carbon fiber if your loaded
its a strut bug, it looks better as german, check out the superbeetlesonly forums/gallery you should get the idea, that being said it hasnt stopped a
few making ratrods and such from supers, when it comes down to it though, are you making it look like that to suit you or someone else?
totally changing to my taste.... so not by what other people define it....
Is that more german........????
... dunno if i like that or not...... I'm really leaning more towards the first two I found.......
With the ......
Anyone know what sizes these wheels come in.... Yes I feel like a noob cause i cant find much info about them that isnt in japanese.

Hellbugged, You are my hero!!!!
fun hey............some people know the tricks to saving designs so you can show them, i think it's something to do with printing and saving the file ready to print, then editing it to cut out the titles etc
If you have paint and a PC - you can just print screen. then you could take it into photo shop and change the exhaust and make it one piece windows,
color code the wheels to match the body.
The down fall of mac's is that they dont have paint... or a print screen feature... not a huge let down really . Im going to go on the other computer and try and make a few... maybe.
go to a few shows and talk to owners that have 1pce windows
i had them in my black bug and hated them, and i bought a kit for my Lbug and never installed them
they look nice but unless you spend ages setting them up right and get better scrapers than what they come with theyre more a pain as they rattle and
leak plus u have to hack up the door to fit them
theres plenty of callook supers check the SBO gallery, its full of them,
but then again theres probably more german lookers than anything in there
basics of germanlook is pretty much about turning a bug into a baby porsche with the power and handling to match
Still got that super 1 piece kit??? want to sell it in like 18 months give me a yell... or i will contact you The whole car is getting repainted, so i think i want to do it.
I dont like the 8 spokes on that yellow bug... nor the two tone. appart from that I love it. Im thinking I will change from stock mirrors also
Im a huge fan of the no trim on the body, and the indicators in the bumper... nice
How good is that selecta thing! The germans! Wish I had known about that site a long time ago!
Hellbugged - thanks a zillion. Tez
that was just the first cal look super i came across
i still have a soft spot for the old 8 spokers but german lookers are more my scene these days
and yea if they still around then there yours
Joel... If my car were yours..... what would you do. Im thinking of going white/cream paint wise..... Give me your opinion - I seem to like your taste
(what cars you have)
Yeah, expect to hear from me about those windows one day. hhaha - thanks
dude
considered the riviera? (5 spoke wheel for 4 stud beetle- its in bugselecta) kinda like a porsche fuch if detailed & you squint a little, or the wheels Vforce has... may not suit your tastes but you never know.

I was thinking about getting the BRM's in 4 spoke, but painted same as the car. I also want to paint the bumpers the same color. Im against the chrome accents...
Gotta go the chrome! Da Bling da thing. Actually having said that I don't have much at all

All the black pits painted same color as the car...
Wrapped in.....
YEAH!!!
Should come out looking something like......
Hopefully in 'Crystal White' (Dulux 15453 or VW number CLR 914.) - Thanks Steve.(was quite tempted to stick the large pic of steves car uphere... it looks so awesome....!!!
I doubt I would be able to find these in AUS... but
Get yourself some old copies of Hot VW's and VW Trends magazine for ideas from mild to wild. The Cal look is about keeping things simple. It went through many different styles ranging from full dechroming, to the recent resto-Cal trend, where body chrome is kept. It's basically about the stance and wheels, and if you can afford it, paint and motor.
thanks for the tip squizy.... I'll try and grab some.
what's about this one Porsche 2 Litre
I think it quite cool
