Dont buy cheap replacement parts. You will hate having to do the job again in less than a year.
Post some pictures of your car,
tell everyone a bit about it, what works, what doesn't etc..
where you would like the car to be in five years time etc..
Do you want to keep the car original, modified, custom etc.. etc..
Stop now! Unless you have lots of time, lots of money and a VERY understanding wife.....
It also depends on what you want to do... standard, cal look, german look, rat... the possibilities and what you can potentially spend are endless.
My advice, seriously, is to look at the original condition of the car and be really honest about what you want it to be. The closer to "concourse"
that you want it to be, the more time and money it is going to take. Be realistic, as a body off, pan up resto is a big job. It also depends on how
much you can do yourself. One benefit with the VW is that they are a basic and simple car. There is also a wealth of information available on the net
and in books that make everything relatively simple.
Good Luck.
feel free to ask any questions on the forum .you will gain plenty of advise from dedicated dubbers
Depending on the condition, I normally strip all the $hit out. Then I move towards the mechanics. Its always easier to work on a vehicle that runs. Then I go towards body.
