CIP1 parts ordering
kenno28 - January 13th, 2010 at 05:40 PM

This may be a silly question, but I am new to this:

Has anyone brought parts from CIP1, and if so did you have to fill in a form which required copy of drivers licence and credit card before processing of the order?

Also did you have to pay any other import tax on arrival, from what i can read it only applies to orders over $1000, is this correct.

If you want to pay directly by credit card they get you to fill out the info. You can pay using paypal though and you don't have to go through this.

Taxes only get charged here when you import more than a certain dollar value. I have done up to $500 with no issues but am not sure what the upper limit is. I am sure someone else will clarify it though.

Yeah - a few US companies do that extra form thingy, basically as an extra authorization with your signature on it. I just filled it in and faxed it back to 'em and all good.

Bringing stuff in $1000 AUD excluding shipping is the limit before you get assessed for GST and Customs... just stay under that amount and you should be fine. Go over it and you're pretty likely to cop 10% GST plus $50-$60 odd for entry fee.
