Body Off Restore

Starting to undertake a body off restore.

Have a question:

I will be replacing the heater channels, so how do I make sure that the holes all align up (bolts though floor into heater channel) when the new channels are installed.

Floor will also be replaced.

I will be bracing door area etc, so to ensure no sagging.

Is it a matter of making up some form of width jig, one heater channel to another?

Any comments/help in this area would be great.

If money was an issue I would not be doing it, finding the time is the problem.

How true. And extra for the WRX motor as in Mick058 case.

But to answer your question, the thread holes within the heater channel should be in the same positions as the original (I say should). Just double check before you remove a section and replace it with the same replacement section. And take some measurements from a point on the car to the first hole as an example.

i bought the bug me cd on heater channel replacement found very helpful .worth watching a couple times to see how it is done .
