Hi
spent the weekend looking at Bugs with my daughter, she has seen one that she likes, however, despite its good mechanics and interior, it will require
some paint work.
The bonnet has a patch about the size of 2 sheets of A4 long and wide! it is a respray that has come off and the original (same) colour is coming
through, likewise on the roof, patch slightly larger! there is very little rust on her, drivers side botom of windscreen!and paint starting to crack
on rain gulleys on roof!
seller is looking for 5 half for it, (1970 1500)
how much will the paint job cost and what is your best guess on an initial offer???
I know it is the provbial "how long is a" question but all thoughts please
how much prep work can you do yourself as this will save you money.
mine was just under 3 and my old man and i did all the prep.
i could certainly do prep work, then you reckon 3 for the actual job!
depends on the painter but thats what mine cost me but that was 6 years ago.
3 thousand is about the cheapest you will find a paint job. Even if you paint it yourself if you have all of the equipment and experience, you will end up spending about $1500 just on materials at least
DUDE DONT PAY 5.5K FOR A BEETLE WITH WORK NEEDED TO BE DONE!! Im not selling anymore (too attached to mine now haha) BUT i was going to sell mine
for 4.3k just recently
Trust me when I say there are plenty of desperate sales if you just wait- dont buy an already overpriced beetle with a crap paintjob
