What year did the Beetle go tp 12volt. 67? 68?

In Australia the 1968 model beetle came with 12 volt stickers
the 1968 year model for VW is for beetles made from 1st August 1967 to 31st July 1968..
so it was really 1967... lol
but was the 1968 VW year model... in Australia
Overseas was different...

1968= 12 Volts
4 stud wheels and disc brakes are the giveaway.
