Hi
I believe the standard had no badges at all...
had painted hubcaps and bumpers..
no interior light, no glovebox lid.. no chrome..
and a 1964 would have been a standard beetle..

the custom beetle was later and had a custom badge on the engine lid.
plus it had stainless steel bumpers - still no over riders..
can;'t remember the hubcaps..?

most people added chromed hubcaps and bumpers to the standards.. many have glovebox lids fitted...
and interior lights installed..

You will find a CUSTOM badge about..
not sure whether it was Custom
1300 ??

cheers

The bumpers and hub-caps were painted silver on the early standards, then later they were chrome-plated, not stainless steel. The story that I heard was that it was cheaper to chrome the bumpers than to paint them. Stainless steel side strips were also added later. No badges.

the 67 model standard was renamed custom for some reason and had 1300 and Custom scripts on the decklid
but the 63-65 standard had nothing on the lid and the66 standard just said 1300

they did regain some items as time went on, my mate had a 66 standard when we in highschool, it had a glovebox lid and was actually ordered new with deluxe bumpers so had the stabilisor rods on the apron and rear gaurds but still had the center section headliner, coles cafeteria upholstry and no fuel gauge or bonnet strip, had side ones though.
The early standards had a pin stripe sticker instead

Our science teacher also had a 64 standard that he bought new and still has it to this day its got matt grey bumpers and side strips but atleast has chrome hubcaps
