yeh im thinking diffidently 60's.
judging by front grills and rear deck lid.
good luck.:)

Not 61, front indicators are too far back and too close to the bonnet.

That narrows it down to a 62 1/2 or a 63, (but then it should have towel rail bumpers)

Might not be original either, which confuses things, could have changed guards, different bumpers, bonnet or deck lid.

Regards,

Matt.

The first three letters or numbers of the rego can be a big clue if you know what they are. And what state they were. I understand you may not want the whole rego shown, as you may want to get custom plates in that number, and don't want anyone to take them. But the first three characters will be safe, and it gives a good indication when it was first registered.

My dad's 63 ( which I still have) Qld rego number plates were NQB671. Also those rear guards don't have the two small holes for the brace to the top of bumpers.

Eazy-G666 - September 29th, 2010 at 10:30 PM

ahaha! thankyou all very much, it used to have a towel rail bumper, however, my dad pulled it off after a nasty run in with another car, but now that it has been narrowed down a bit, it makes my searching that much easier =] can anyone explain the black stripe?

barls - September 30th, 2010 at 08:42 AM

the black stripe was an australia only dealer add on called a flash trim kit.
there was about 6 different types.

1960-61, it has a Wolfsburg crest on the bonnet.
