Heater Channels
privatelux - October 6th, 2010 at 12:56 PM

Just fisholining the heater channels of my 71 1302. To gain access I have taken out the back seat and removed the cloth cladding from the mesh part of the ducting. I want to insert the fisholining tube into the heater channel that runs forward but cant work out how to remove the mesh part to gain access. Pushing it as far back as it will go does not clear the forward duct so I cant gain access for the tubing with out boring a hole in the mesh which I would rather not do as it is incredibly original.
Any ideas on how to remove the mesh part?

it should be plastic bellows under the seat between back fire wall and heater channel

it shoiuld depress forward and lift upwards to remove

mmmm no its original metal mesh. It is a German assembled bug so maybe they are different.

Hi

You could always jack it up at the front and put it in through the floor vents or drill a small hole and cover it up again with grommet.

Yip, looks like its a hole to be drilled to do the job.
Thanks
