I feel like I've come of age as a VW owner. I adjusted the valves on my Beetle this morning. This was the first time that I'd ever done it, and with a bit of guidance from John Muir and Cares of Crowborough it went perfectly well.

Replacing the spark plugs this afternoon didn't go quite as well however.
