None, but it might be one of the ovals that got the modernising process of fitting a big back window.
That used to happen alot..

Or it may just be a big window dash smoothed off

Hi
that is an oval beetle with W deck lid -
batwing steering wheel -
early jack... vw off the bonnet is a late one...
should have been pressed aluminium -
what is the round thing in the dash next to the speedo..>?
type 3 handle on handbrake upside down...lol

tail lamps are NOT tombstone but 1962>1967 tail lamps..

No semaphores [trafficators] is strange... to take them out??
no holes at all???

Definately a W deck lid.....

what does the number plate look like.??
does it have a flat piece of plastic or glass for lens?

oval steering wheel horn button and wheel...

ignition key should be on the LEFT hand side..
where the 3 white knobs are....

Headlamp lenses with VW at the top are old type lenses...
vertical flutes.... no cut off...

LEE

hubcaps sound early too..

Square thing to the left of the speedo is most likely an old period fuel gauge that was availble back then, and the other round thing to the right is another gauge probably temp or ammeter.

It wasnt uncommon for people to bog over the semaphores and fit later indicators, seen several like that over the years

All ovals had the ignition key on the very right hand side of the radio where this one does, it was only big window cars that have them on the left.

My Son has a 1956 beetle and the ignition switch is in the furtherest hole to the LHS...
same as LHD cars...
never been moved...

In the late '50s, early '60s - when I worked for a VW dealer -
we had to fit the 'big window' turrets to oval Beetles, when the original turrets became un-available.

As spares became obsolete; such as the front guards with the steel wiring tube, we had to use whatever new parts were available. NRMA Insurance had a policy of replacing damaged parts with new parts only.

Cheers, Greg

No LHD bugs had the ignition switch on the left, was always furthest on the right
