front beam dissmantle

Hi all,
Ive got a 1976 front beam I want to narrow by 2''. I would like to know how to remove the controll arms and anything else that may be of use.

Beam or Macpherson strut?, the ball joint trailing arms can be removed by backing off the lock nut and winding out the allen keyed screw, the arms should then knock out of the beam.
