rewiring car need help
Lachlan VL - March 20th, 2011 at 09:33 PM
hi guys just wondering how much it would be to rewire my 12v 69 bug can anyone give me an estimate

What do you mean 'rewire'? If you're talking about having an electrician custom-make and install a complete new wiring loom for you then it will
probably cost thousands.

Yes
to rewire a Car is VERY EXPENSIVE.....
to use the same colored wires is ULTRA EXPENSIVE..
You can buy them in the USA but they are NOT RH Drive..
so don't fit..
would have to be modified...
about $450-$500 with freight..
then need to be modified....extended...

used to be someone making VW wiring harnesses to order in RHD... from memory $800...??

I think Lee is saying he will do it for $21.55 an hour, correct me if wrong Lee.
I am still making my own complete wiring harness from scratch. I think I have bought about 25m of single wiring and also a 6m of heavy duty 7 core
trailer wiring. I have done more since this photo, but you get the basic idea. I have made the wiring longer and going to try and have most of it
hidden. Also using mainly black wiring so as to make it a little (and I mean a little) harder for the thieves. Will also be adding a 3 point
immobilizer alarm.
