Hi guys

A ballpark figure on the following:

1970 1500 manual beetle
martini olive (?) paint
original owner, records, good original condition
no major rust (cant see any actually)
original interior in terrific shape

With a RWC and registration, drive away, could be up to $4000.

If it is run down mechanically, it could go as low as $1500

Car dealers deliberately leave haggle room though, especially on old cars. I bet he would be happy to take $5000 for it.

8 kiss my ass. It would owe them under 2.

They would have bought it under the low end of $1500, and will want more than the high end of $4000.

A Beetle is a desirable car, but not very rare. The market shows late Beetles struggling to get $8K unless they have a confirmed quality that has usually meant twice that much has been spent on the restoration of the vehicle.

In some rare models like Karmann Cabriolets this is a different situation. They are much rarer. and highly desirable.
