Hi peeps..just a quick question regarding earthing the fuel sender. I have just had the factory tank powder-coated and re-fitting the fuel sender. The
mounting screws for the sender unit have nylon washers on them that mount the tank..do all the mounting screws need nylon washers?..or do I need to
make sure a couple of them have NO nylon washers to earth the sender unit?.Im confused..lol
Regardless if no nylon washers or not, there is still 'metal on metal' contact with the bolts touching the walls of the bore in the sender and
through into the thread of the tank itself.
I found after painting my tank, the sender (regardless if contact was made between it and the tank) could still not be earthed as there was no metal
on metal contact from the tank onto the body of the bug. A simple earth wire from one of the screws at the sender to the body solved the problem with
no fuss

Thanks for the replies guys..Just wasnt sure. With the tank to be sitting on the factory foam and the hood area getting a fresh coat of paint, it
looks like I'll need to pay good attention to the earths between the sender and the tank aswell as the tank and the body. What started as just a tank
replacement has snowballed into a rewire and repaint under the hood...ohh dear...
