1970 BEETLE HIDDEN ENGINE BAY WIRING..PICS OR HELP!...
snitz - November 22nd, 2011 at 08:34 PM

Hey people...in the process of re-wiring the taillights and loom that runs in the engine bay in my wifes 1970 Beetle. I have removed the earth tabs that are located on the body work near the cylinder tinware. I am looking to hide the loom and earth the earth wires elsewhere. Does anyone out there have links to hiding wiring for type 1 engine bays, have pictures or done this themselves?..Ive done searches but nothing helpful has been found..I dont really want to cut holes everywhere in the nicely resprayed engine bay until I look at all options..regards Jason:cool:

All the wiring is originally covered by the tarboard insulation.
If you want to go flasher than that you could alway put in a stainless steel firewall kit.

Im looking to hide all wiring with no tar boards or firewall kits as the whole egine bay has been smoothed out and painted in 2pak and the rear luggage compartment/firewall has been replaced. I am going to sound deaden the inside of the firewall and rear floor with dynamat etc..cheers jason.
