I think you will find in queensland it is illegal to drive your car without bumper bars, at least that's what the cop said.

Yeah I'm starting to think that as well

Yeah mate no problems with doing that. In NSW you might get pulled up about it through the Saftey inspection each year but not in QLD. Also My Dad and my brother and other family live on the Gold Coast. Where abouts in GC are ya? We should catch up next time im up?

I think its up to the poilce person..
If they know that beetles did have bumpers originally
then they are liable to book You...

then again
its much better for a pedestrian to be hit by a beetle without a front bumper .....

Some people have run T bars for years without problems
but if they happen to hit a pedestrian...
YIKES...

T bars and bumpers aren't pedestrian friendly.. lol

I personally would rather have a bumper to protect the car..

If the vehicle is fitted with them from the factory it is illegal

Thanx guys I think I'll leave the bars on. I found out through the queensland transport that if it's earlier than 1970 you can legally drive your car with out them.
Yeah I'm in upper coomera Dylan, Where abouts are your family on the coast?
