Pumba - March 13th, 2012 at 04:57 PM

Im replacing my floor pan halfs on my 56 oval with the repro ones from classic,i have been told to change the seat runners as the repro ones are thin, but i cant see much difference in them, has anyone ever had dramas with leaving the repro ones on the floor pans ???

Yep

Took off fairly quick one day and my mate went arse over tit backwards
The spot welds (hah!) just peeled off.

If you are going to use them at least do a solid braze to secure the things to the pan

Then you need to be carefull you dont burn a hole in the floor

It might pay to drill a few holes and plug weld them.

if you havent already bought the ones from classic, and depending on budget, and the the build quality etc you are trying to achieve, the ones from wolfsburg west are worlds apart in quality. My son threw away one of the cheap pan halves, too thin and too hard to work with to make it fit. The one from wolfsburg west just fell into place and much thicker, more solid.

You can deal direct with wolfsburg west, on their website, ship to your door etc.
