Hi Guys,
My partner has recently purchased a super bug and while driving the car began to rev high. I then examined the cable lead and it seems to have
snapped. The accelerator has no stiffness and is on the floor. How can i fix this? how much will it cost? Where in Adelaide can i speak to someone who
maybe able to help.
Cheers,
Peter
replace the cable its located on the passenger side near their feet on the centre tunnel before you place the new cable in oil it pull the broken
cable out first
place it up into the tube make sure if you have a condue before the fan housing at the rear you might need to remove it and then place the cable back
through so it does not get stuck then push through so it comes out near the carb linkage
I can recommend Ziggy and Steve at GHR MOTORS on Daws Rd..cheers Jason.
thanks guys part ordered and should be fixed with in a week
Just an update, a fitting 3from the carbie came out and had to be re fitted. beetle is working fine, just has a small oil leak. thanks for your help guys.
Good to have a spare accelerator cable too..
and a clutch cable..
did the cable come out of the carby linkage?
Mine came loose recently, was wondering why I could only do 90klms up a hill...
found the clamping piece in the carburetor must have come loose and the cable was just holding in there...
pushed it back in and car is going great again...
another tip, lubricate every thing that moves especially on the carburetor, with engine oil...
engine oil leaks... Most of them do...
so long as it isn't too bad.. check the oil every day to see how much You are losing... change the oil if its dirty on the dipstick
cheers

Hi guys, having a little trouble with the partners vw super, we took it on the free way for the first time last night and when we were changing from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 gear the car would shake. The shockers are quite worn and we were travelling at 85 miles. Any idea what could be wrong?
