Bug Horn
poe70 - June 10th, 2012 at 07:49 PM
Ok guys, heres a silly question but where does the horn on a beetle mount? My 70 bug doesn't have one at the moment but I have one to fit during the
rebuild but am unsure what it mounts on to. Also I think my wiring has been messed with so where would the cables normally come from. Thanks

Ok thanks bajachris, The ground wire that comes out of the steering column goes to a lug on the steering box that looks like a factory item and there
does seem to be any loose cables at the pass side as I have both front gairds off but I'll have another look tomorrow. Thanks

it uses one of the lhs bumper bracket bolts..
a live wire from the ignition circuit goes to one terminal
and the other terminal comes from the wires from the steering wheel and ignition switch..
when You press the button, it earths out the wire...
the bottom of the steering column has a wire going from one side of the rubber buffer/insulator to the other side..
